Artist's Comment:
"This painting was developed through broken forms, overlapping layers and gestures that begin but don't always resolve.
Some areas come together while others remain interrupted, leaving spaces and traces between them. I wanted to allow those different parts to exist alongside one another without trying to make everything complete. A sense that there can still be fullness in what is never entirely whole.."
Poem for Never Whole
A deep knowing that we are never whole,
and never meant to be.
We are made of fragments,
memories, experiences and versions of ourselves.
Some parts remain.
Some have broken away.
Some are still forming.
There is grief in this,
and also a strange freedom.
I feel the ache of what is missing,
and the courage to keep living
with what remains.
