Artist's Comment:
"This painting developed through layers of soft, brushed colour alongside smaller, repeated marks and areas of stronger, more concentrated colour. I worked intuitively, allowing some marks to remain clear, while others were softened, covered or partially revealed again.
I particularly enjoyed the rhythm of making the smaller marks and the way they began to build and break apart across the surface. I wanted to keep the sense of movement within the paint, resisting the temptation to resolve every area and allowing quieter spaces to remain alongside the more active ones."

There are places
that ask nothing of us
but our attention.
At first, only glimpses,
something just beyond sight,
a sense of somewhere drawing near.
I wait,
and slowly it unfolds,
not all at once,
and never more than I’m meant to see.
I do not need to know
where it begins or where it ends.
I simply meet it
as it appears.
